"This poster represents a period in Ireland when ‘pictures’ were shown in small villages where there was no cinema. This form of entertainment was shown on a weekly period at the time. My grandfather, Chris Donogher used to show these pictures at the time in Kinnitty, County Offaly and beyond. One notable story of a film, where a plane appeared on the screen, audience members ducked down!
