Commemorative book, Guinness Staff WW1
"This beautiful bound, boxed book contains the names of Guinness employees who served during World War I, including my grandmother’s brother-in-law, James (Jimmy) Cosgrove. He was originally from Portadown but resident in Dublin and employed as a cooper in Guinness. Whilst serving in the forces, he worked as a cook and did not see any action, perhaps because he had a young family back home. Although my great-aunt and he had seven children, they had no grandchildren, so my sister and I became their virtual grandchildren. This is why I have this treasured book."
