Michael Collins Letter
"When this letter was written, Michael Collins was a T.D., Minister of Finance and the most important politician in the country. There was a general election on 16th June in that year. While Michael was campaigning for the Sinn Fein (pro Treaty) party, he scheduled some rallies in Longford. Unfortunately he lost his voice. (just like Teresa May at the conservative conference last week). Kitty Kiernan recommended that he attend Dr. Vincent Delany in Church Street, Longford. Dr. Delany had a small pharmacy at the back of the house, so he made up a bottle which could cure the sore throat. It must have worked, otherwise Collins would not have sent the letter, and might not have won the election "
