"This object was for saving 6 penny pieces. I think it was provided by the banks. The idea was you could carry this in your pocket and if you had an odd spare sixpenny piece you could slot it into the small receptacle and thus be encouraged to build up a small savings rather than spend it as you had it. It measures 56mm high by 20mm dia."
