Cufflinks
" A pair of cufflinks given to my father in west Cork in the late 1940's. He was told that they had belonged to Tom Crean and that they had been lent to him by Captain Scott. When he returned them to Scott he was told that they had been a wedding present and that he could keep them. My Dad was told this was about 1910. My Dad went to London around 50 or 51 and would wear the cufflinks to the St Patrick's Day parade each year when he would tell me about the cufflinks even though, at that time I had no idea who Captain Scott and Crean were.
