Roamer Swiss made Wrist Watch
"Roamer was founded in Solothurn Switzerland in 1888 by Fritz Meyer. This Art Deco Roamer watch has an extremely fine detailed cordette decorated rope leather strap. The strap is extremely fine and uniquely delicate as a time piece. It has a unique face with the brand Roamer Swiss engraving. The back has an insignia with much writing which is barely visible and needs magnification to discern. The watch is very delicate to touch and has obvious wear around the clasps and leather cord. The case is of particular interest. It resounds the African influence on Art Deco design. The case has a triangular surround motif which is so discreet it is hardly visible to see. On very close inspection this motif can be seen. The box, like the watch, is unique in design, delicate and conceals minute detail. The box inlay is satin with a fine stitch reading Jewelers and Opticians S. Benson Co.115 Grafton Street Dublin. The case is brown leather bound entirely around the case. The inner lower inlay has a removable section where the watch can coil underneath. The lower section of the case has a cotton weave around the base. There is a strong African suggestion behind the ensemble."
