Ornate carved altar of worship with holy objects

"The carved wooden ornate altar was made specially for my mother to worship and hide some of her precious treasures. I remember its position in her bedroom placed high on shelf in her bedroom. She had at least four statues in the little shrine, Our Lady,St Joseph,Infant of Prague, and St Teresa. Being a deeply religious woman the statues were taken down according to required needs. She would bless us children with the statue before doing an exam or embarking on a long journey. Even the cows in the shed were not spared from a smack of one of her precious objects when they were in calf. Hidden in the depths of the shrine were relics of some saints Maria Goretti and Saint Martin De Porres,O.P. Sick people in the parish of Borris-in-Ossory received consolidation from her holy objects. Her mother of pearl rosary beads was stored inside the shrine for quick access along with holy water from the local monastery in Roscrea. My mother had even her most treasured piece of jewellery in her shrine when she went to hospital for a short stay. I still have these holy objects and can't part with them because of her strong believe and affection for the precious shrine and her strong thought's on religion. Mary Conliffe"
