Bayonet and Dagger

"This bayonet and dagger were found in the 1980s in the basement of an old public house (built in 1700s and demolished late 1900s) on Usher's Quay in Dublin city. We are not sure how long they were there, but the stamp on one says 1903. Perhaps they had been used in the Civil War or the War of Independence? The basement (which in more recent times was where the pub toilets were located) had tunnel access to the river Liffey and regularly flooded at high tide. Local legend states that these tunnels were used by smugglers."
