Aids Quilt 1991
"There was an exhibition in the Mansion House Dublin that highlighted the negative reaction to the plight of many who suffered from AIDS which was sweeping the world. The disease affected many LGBT communities and as a result they were ostracised from 'normal society'. I visited the exhibition with my family and purchased the poster to express compassion and care for those who were infected. It challenged the ethos that placed them outside society showing that they were our family members. The patchwork quilt was sewn by family members of Aids sufferers and toured Ireland in January and February 1991. "
