Awl Carpentry Tool
"A ordinary awl, my grandfather was a carpenter whose awl it was. I inherited it along with a lot of his tools in 1931/32. It could be as old as 1870 but we're not sure. It was in constant use until about two years ago when the Parkinson's came on. I would use it in making bird cages and dog kennels. When you make a bird cage, every hole had to be a half inch wide. It had to be dead straight as well for the wires."
