Halyard

"This halyard brought down the British flag and raised the National flag by Taoiseach Eamon de Valera on July 11th. 1938 at the take over of Irish ports. I will be presenting the halyard to Spike Island Museum in memory of my late father CS Patrick J. Kelly who was present on the day as a member of the armed forces. "
