"A Pye radio from the 1940s. These radios had valves inside and when switched on took a number of minutes to work as the valves had to heat up. At that time they were considered almost priceless as they were the only communication with the outside world. The channels I remember were Luxembourg, Hilversum, Radio Eireann and a few others."
