Rates Demand

"My grand uncle received this note from Arthur French - the rates collector and well known in Claremorris for having been invited to the White House by president Clinton (a local historian tells me). It is interesting because 1977 was the abolishion of the residential property rates. My grand uncle was 86 at the time and died in 1978 a year later."
