Cast iron range cooker
"The range cooker was so called because it enable the use of a range of culinary techniques. It was more fuel efficient that an open fire and was safer. The model shown in the photo is the Waterford Stanley no. 8. I was cooking on the stove at the time the photo was taken, due to a major power outage in the area. The fireplace was originally designed for an open fire but was converted to allow the fitting of a range cooker."
