Plate
"This Arklow pottery plate was bought by my Mother (as part of a set) at least 40 years ago, maybe 50 years ago in J.J. Harlow’s shop Roscommon. After years of daily use it was “promoted” to being used as a tray under flower pots. It was brought to Galway with flower pots in 1994 by my Mother when she moved here to live with me until she passed away. Earlier this year I discovered it in my garden shed, very stained but in one piece. I took it to a ceramics artist friend, Batty O’Brien, and he reglazed and refired it to bring it to what it is now. The number 77 is on the back as well as the pottery stamp. I don't know the significance of that. "
