"A staple of late 80s early 90s student bedsits when listening to poor quality DIY recordings of your favourite bands was somehow acceptable. Obviously pre Youtube and Spotify streaming. If you were lucky the recording didn't sound like you were listening from some foggy corner of outer space. Fingers crossed that there wasn't too many snowblowers talking crap standing too close to the microphone that was probably stuck out of somebody's jacket pocket. High tech stuff at the time!"
