Trup Trup a Chapaillín record

"Trup, Trup a Chapaillín Gael Linn (1968) This delightful selection of songs for children was popular in Irish homes of the late 1960s and 1970s. The album was issued as an LP and a companion to An Bealach Rúnda, a storybook by Brian Ó Baoill (An Gúm). It was bedtime reading for a generation of children brought up in Irish-speaking homes and is remembered with great fondness. It is so much a part of Irish childhood that the CD version (2002) is enjoying continuing success. The story is narrated by renowned actor Niall Tóibín and the songs are sung by Cantairí Óga Átha Cliath, under the direction of Proinsias Ó Ceallaigh who did trojan work in furthering choral singing in Irish schools. It is of interest that among the Cantairí Óga were Mary Black, Twink, Maxi and other singers who went on to have a professional career in music. The distinctive 1960s album cover was designed by Caoimhín Ó Marcaigh. Trup, Trup a Chapaillín Gael Linn (1968) Cnuasach álainn é seo d’amhráin do pháistí a eisíodh i 1968 mar chompánach don leabhar An Bealach Rúnda le Brian Ó Baoill (An Gúm). Bhí an-tóir ar an gceirnín i dteaghlaigh ghaelacha agus i scoileanna. Maireann na dea-chuimhní agus an gliondar croí go fóill sna daoine a d’fhás suas le hamráin mar Trup, Trup a Chapaillín agus Mac an Ghogaí. Go deimhin, is traidisiún atá ag leanúint ó ghlúin go glúin agus tóir i gcónaí ar an CD (2002). Niall Tóibín a d’aithris an scéal agus Cantairí Óga Átha Cliath a chan na hamhráin faoi stiúir Phroinsias Uí Cheallaigh, duine a rinne gaisce chun an amhránaíocht a chur chun cinn sa chóras oideachais. Ar na Cantairí óga bhí Mary Black, Twink, Maxi agus amhránaithe eile a chuaigh le ceol ar bhonn gairmiúil ina dhiaidh sin. Caoimhín Ó Marcaigh a dhear an clúdach ícónach. "
