Moffat Cookbook

"When electricity came to town in 1937 the electric cooker came with it. The enamel Moffat cooker served my grandmother well until the sad day when it worked no more. The ESB Electrician and his apprentice arrived with a new cooker, when they walked into the kitchen the Electrician stopped short and said to his young assistant "This will never happen to you" pointing at the Moffat he continued "I helped fit that cooker on my first week with the ESB I'm retiring in two weeks time." Addressing my grandmother he said "Sorry Missus but this new one won't last forty odd years." "Not to worry" she replied "Neither will I." The cookbook that came with the Moffat cooker however is still used today."
