Box used to take food to Irish Political prisioners in UK jails

"This box has been in the O Dowd Family since that time. My father in law, Michael O Dowd, who was very sympathetic to the cause and was probably the one who brought the food to the prisioners as he lived in Manchester at that time. I have heard the names of either Tadhg or Sean Murphy, brothers from Cork, mentioned in connection with this item but whether one or both were Political prisioners at the time I can’t recall. Small weapons were often hidden in the box. Food was placed in the bigger compartment and a drink in the smaller one. "
