Delorean Belfast Factory Drawing

"These plans were folded and shoved into a old fire grate which I unearthed in Old Mother Rednapps market Dublin in 1999. Pulled out the paper and instantly recognised the drawings. I love the Back to the Future movies, the Irish connection and find the doomed history of the Delorean company fascinating. The Delorean sports car remains distinctly recognisable with its iconic gull-winged doors. The first prototype appeared in October 1976. Production officially began in 1981 in Dunmurry, a suburb of southwest Belfast, Northern Ireland, where the first DMC-12 rolled off the production line on January 21. At the time, the unemployment rate was high in Northern Ireland and local residents lined up to apply for jobs at the factory. It became widely known and iconic for its appearance, and a modified DMC-12 was immortalized as the DeLorean time machine in the Back to the Future "
