My mother's Poached Egg Pan
"The pan is among my earliest kitchen memories. It was in use in the early 50s but may date from 1940s? (My parents married non 1946) And it is still in regular use more than 60 years later. I believe it is made of tin alloy, something " tinkers" would repair as they journeyed around Ireland. The pan is itself well-travelled, having spent 20 years in the UK, and since I inherited it, has been to San Francisco, Vilnius and Helsinkiit is quite a clever device with 3 pans floating on a water container. It must have poached some 10.000 eggs so far ( 60 years at least x 3 eggs once a week at least x 52 weeks)...and still going strong!"
