Brooch
"This brooch was handmade in the workshop of Kilkenny prison in the year of 1922 by my uncle, Willie Butler, during the time of the Black and Tans. He made it for my mother, Mollie. He has incorporated significant Irish symbols. This was passed on to me from my mother. My mother always told me she thought it was made from a half crown, but I was never sure. It has great sentimental value. The other brooch was given to my mother as well, and it was one of a pair."
