Scout Guidebook

"I was a member of the scouts in Cork back in the 1970's as a child and I always kept this guidebook in my bedroom during those years. I took the scouts very seriously and it was a big part of my life. I think I grew out of it as I approached my teens. Like many aspects of Irish society the church was very involved in the scouts at this time. As you can see from the photo "The scout salute is given passing a church or a place where the blessed sacrament is kept". I'm not sure if that still happens. "
