Aidan McCarthy - Irish doctor of the Royal Air Force

"My Dad was Aidan McCarthy, an Irish doctor of the Royal Air Force who showed great courage, resourcefulness and humanity during his capture by the Japanese during the Second World War. His book 'A Doctor's War was first published in 1979 and we still sell copies of it to this day in our pub.Every copy that sent out from here I imprint with the MacCarthy's family seal from the 1920's. We also have his rugby cap from UCC in 1932."
