Defense of the Realm Pass

"I found this card among papers of my late great uncle. The card belonged to his brother. It reflects the start of the last 100 years, still part of the 'realm', the final months of WW1, the perceived high risk nature of the Kerry coast and the interim period between 1916 and the War of Independence. Being a fireman must have given Maurice some privileges to move about possibly during curfews etc."
