The Smiths Belfast Concert Tickets

"Second generation Manchester Irish legends The Smiths would play concerts in Belfast on three occasions. Each was a blessing. The band’s Northern Irish debut in the Ulster Hall in May 1984 was a joyous event, awash with the purloined flowers that greeted all of their early gigs. Their next performance in the same venue six months later was an even more riotous affair, with Morrissey’s trenchant comments on the Brighton bombing only weeks before lending a distinct edge to proceedings. The Smiths’ final appearance in Belfast would take them to the Whitla Hall in January 1986. This was a strangely subdued evening, with a set truncated by the singer’s illness and performed before a remarkably sparse audience. It’s odd to think now how rarely people went to gigs back in the day. "
