Attraction of Opposites

"Signatures of Lord Craigavon, First Prime Minister of Northern Ireland and Eamon de Valera directly opposite each other on adjoining pages of my Mothers Autograph Book. Assuming the signatures are authentic the positioning of the signatures are historically interesting as it would have been impossible for the last contributor not to have seen the signature of the first before making his contribution. Coming from totally opposite political positions it is unlikely that these two gents ever met and yet they were destined to lie side by side in an unassuming autograph book. My mother Olive Briggs was born and lived in Belfast in 1926 and was educated in Dublin . The autograph book was dated Dublin 1939. "
