Radio Luxembourg 208 T-Shirt

"I remember my "Good Old Days" in boarding school. We listened regularly to Radio Luxembourg, surreptitiously in the dormitory with a radio hidden under the blankets. I remember the "Power Play" when the station selected a particular record to be played hourly for a week. A major Power Play that I recall from those days was "Make me an Island" by Joe Dolan. Later it was on Radio Luxembourg that I heard the announcement of the death of Elvis Presley. The announcement stays in my memory to this day. First the station said "we have a major news story on the next hour". The next bulletin went something like "The King is dead" and continued "but we are a commercial station so we will continue as normal", and they went on to cover the remaining news. However on the following bulletin they started - "The King is dead. Indeed the is no other news. The directors have decided that there will be no more advertising tonight". Those were the days!!!"
