Liberty Bodice
"This was my liberty bodice which I had to wear as a child over my vest in the winter time during the early sixties. My Mother and Grandmother were fastidious about my siblings and I wearing one at all times to prevent chest infections, they said. In the morning we would get dressed in the kitchen, always trying to be the one closest to the old wellstood cooker for warmth. My Grandmother would place our vests and liberty bodices on the lid of the cooker to warm them. Happy memories! "
