Household Encyclopaedia
"This one volume Household Encyclopaedia was probably a 1953 wedding gift to my parents. The encyclopaedia is humorously alphabetical: pages 148 & 149, for example, offer etiquette advice on the minefield of making Introductions, explain the theory of Invalid cookery, assist with removing Iodine stains, plant Iris flowers, cook Irish stew and do the Ironing. The book has no well used parts indicating that it was kept for emergencies rather than for everyday consultation. "
